BLOC is proud to share that BLOC-Uptown member Courtney Colosi, an Accounting and Finance Recruiting Manager at Sherpa, was honored as a winner of Charlotte's Top 30 Under 30 presented by Elevate Lifestyle. The Top 30 Under 30 Awards celebrated the region’s best young talent and future leaders of Charlotte. Colosi accepted the award at the awards ceremony on Friday, October 15th at Suite in Uptown Charlotte. CONGRATULATIONS Courtney from all your friends at BLOC!!!
BLOC Southpark member Nicole H. Sodoma with Sodoma Law, P.C. was recently named one of 2010 Movers & Shakers by North Carolina Business Leader Media . Nicole was once again recognized for her leadership in the field of family law and for making a difference in her community. Each year the magazine looks for individuals in North Carolina who are “up and coming leaders who have positive impact on their organization and may be on a path to higher leadership positions. Movers and Shakers also play a significant role in improving their communities”, writes publisher Bob Friedman. Nicole continues to make an impact on lives both within her industry and the greater community. Congratulations to Nicole!
BLOC reignited its’ co-ed BLOC Bowling Team in the Fall of 2010, and after five weeks, finds itself in FIRST PLACE, for the third week in a row, with a 30 – 10 record. Strikers include captain Justin Lowenberger, Ryan Donaghy, Mark Munson, Benjamin Helbein, Mike Waite, Ellen Lowenberger, Wendy Shanahan, Nikkie Darrell, Whitney Turner, and Jennifer Beagle. GO BLOC!
BLOC-Uptown member Rick Spruill of Allied/ Interior Distributors has been promoted to Branch Manager of our Charlotte office. Rick will now be based 100% in Charlotte and will no longer be traveling the Carolinas. The Charlotte branch services Drywall & Ceiling Contractors, Builders and General Contractors in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties with Gypsum, Acoustical, Steel Framing, Insulation and related accessories. Allied has been in business since 1950 and in Charlotte and the Carolinas since 1985.

BLOC-Uptown member Laura Murphy, Founder and Massage Therapist and BLOC-SouthPark member Becca Bazzle, Massage Therapist celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Essential Therapy in Charlotte. Best Small Business Bank. The study, which has been running for five years, looks at eight factors of customer satisfaction: product offerings, account manager, facility, account information, problem resolution, credit services, fees and account activities. J.D. Power and Associates based its findings on more than 6,600 responses taken from the financial leaders of small businesses between the months of July and August 2010.
1. SunTrust Bank: Scored the highest with 751 in overall points. Its greatest strengths were in product offerings, account activities and problem resolution.
